We are pleased to announce that the UNITED project officially kicked off in January, and activities are now in their full swing.UNITED is promoting ocean multi-use through the development of real-world demonstration pilots, exploring technical, regulatory, economic, social and environmental requirements and impacts. UNITED pilot sites are located in three regional seas across Europe, in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Greece, representing a wide variety of environmental and regulatory conditions. In these pilots, UNITED will implement and test different combinations of blue economy activities, including wind farming, floating solar energy, aquaculture (fish, blue mussels and flat oysters) and tourism.
